Hillary was raised in a suburb of Illinois where she attended public school and was raised a Methodist by her parents. She attended Wellesley College, and went on to study law at Yale. After attending Yale Law School, she went to work for the Children’s Defense Fund, going door to door in New Bedford, Massachusetts. After serving as a lawyer for the Congressional Committee investigating President Nixon, she moved to Arkansas where she taught law and ran legal clinics representing poor people. She co-founded Arkansas Advocates for Children and Families, one of the state’s first child advocacy groups. As First Lady under President Bill Clinton, Hillary tenaciously led the fight to reform our health care system so that all our families have access to the care they need at affordable prices. Hillary led the U.S. delegation to Beijing to attend the UN Fourth World Conference on Women and gave a groundbreaking speech, declaring that “human rights are women's rights and women's rights are human rights once and for all”—inspiring women worldwide and helping to galvanize a global movement for women’s rights and opportunities. Hillary was then elected to the U.S. Senate, becoming the first woman senator from New York. She repeatedly worked across the aisle to get things done, including working alongside Republicans after the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. When Congress wouldn't do enough for rural areas and small towns, Hillary didn’t back down. She launched innovative partnerships with the tech industry and provided support to local colleges and small businesses. When President Obama asked Hillary to serve as his secretary of state, she answered the call to public service once again. She was a forceful champion for human rights, internet freedom, and rights and opportunities for women and girls, LGBT people and young people all around the globe. Now she’s running for President because everyday Americans need a champion and she wants to be that champion. ABOUT THE HILLARY CLINTON YOUTUBE CHANNEL Welcome to Hillary Clinton’s YouTube Channel. CEDAR RAPIDS, IA (CBS2/FOX28)--Desecrating the American flag is now officially legal in Iowa. A federal judge has struck down two Iowa laws that made it a crime to mistreat the flag. The judge ruled the laws unconstitutional because they criminalize the right to free speech. This class of first graders at St. Jude Elementary School is learning about the pledge of allegiance and how to fold the American flag. "They pick up on it really fast when you explain to them what the whole thing is about,‚ said veteran Bob Feiereisen. He says he wants them to learn respect for the flag. The lesson comes in the wake of a ruling by a federal judge that makes it okay to desecrate the American flag in Iowa. "For those of us that have been in the service that's a pretty good way to start a fight,‚ Feiereisen said. It's a feeling these vets at the Veterans Welcome Center in Cedar Rapids echo. "To spit on a flag and to drag it on the ground to me is degrading and I think it's wrong,‚ said Shawn Dohrmann. The ruling stems from a 2013 lawsuit. As Westboro Baptist Church members protested during soldiers' funerals, police warned them they could be arrested for dragging an American flag on the ground or standing on it. They along with the help of the American Civil Liberties Union of Iowa challenged two Iowa laws that were originally passed to protect the American flag. "If we were to deny them the right to use the flag for expression then it follows that none of us could use it,‚ said Randall Wilson, Interim Executive Director and General Counsel. Veterans like Kevin Ringold say while the flag represents freedom, it's also a symbol of the many lives that were lost as a result of protecting that freedom. "Show some respect because you wouldn't be where you are, have what you have if it wasn't for that flag and the people who fought for it,‚ he said. A reminder these 1st graders are taking to heart by simply learning how to fold the red white and blue.

http://www.pedestrians.org Don Wetmore takes us along on a day of rail fanning in Nebraska and Iowa. We start in Omaha, where we catch Amtrak's California Zephyr stopping at the old Burlington Station and several freight trains. Then we head over to the Missouri Valley, Iowa, railroad yard. We make our way east along the Chicago and North Western tracks up the Boyer River Valley to the Iowa Divide, photographing numerous trains along the way. Filmed in April, 1993. Produced by John Z Wetmore, producer of "Perils For Pedestrians".
